Westward Bound!
The Fund is on the road again! This weekend the convention season starts in San Francisco at APE 2003 on February 1 and 2. APE is the West Coast's biggest and best celebration of independent and underground comix. This year they're hosting Dan Clowes, Robert Williams, S. Clay Wilson, Jordan Crane, Chynna Clugston Major, James Kochalka, and hundreds of other great contemporary comics artists.
The Fund will be there along with supporters Judd Winick, Eric Jones, and Colleen Coover. Judd's Barry Ween t-shirt is one of our most popular designs. You can meet him on Saturday from 2-3 pm at the CBLDF table where he'll be drawing sketches and signing autographs.
From 3:30 to 4:30 come meet Eric Jones, artist of Slave Labor's groovy Little Gloomy comic. We'll be premiering Eric's spanking new Little Gloomy shirts, which are available in both women's and men's sizes.
Colleen Coover will be by the Fund table on Sunday afternoon to sign an APE exclusive print previewing the art for her upcoming CBLDF t- shirt. The super-cute Nibbil tee shirt shirt is coming in April, but you can pre-order it at the show. After the show we'll reveal the image on http://www.cbldf.org but for now, here's a hint: it's patriotic!
Stop by APE on February 1 and 2 to discover why San Francisco remains one of the country's true havens for cutting edge comix! For more info visit: http://www.comic-con.org.
