What's Happening At Wizard World

The community of comics professionals is rallying around the CBLDF at this weekend’s Wizard World convention in Chicago. From contributing to our auction, to signing at our booth, to doing one-on-one lunches with Fund supporters, several top comics pros are giving from the heart to give the Fund a steady financial baseline to put into the war chest for the next major case. Read on to see who helping so that you can help the Fund at this crucial moment.

Lunch Dates!

Conventions are great because they allow fans to meet some of their favorite pros, but getting one-on-one quality time is rare. But not for a handful of Fund supporters at this weekend’s show.

At Friday night’s CBLDF auction we’ll be auctioning off three lunches:

Lunch with Joe Quesada in the Marvel Hospitality Suite – That’s right, just you and Joe in the Marvel Hospitality Suite, where anything can happen. The winner of this auction will also get a pass to get into the Suite on Saturday night when Marvel’s top creators will all be hanging out.

Lunch with Mark Millar – One of the key architects of the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Mark Millar will break bread with a generous CBLDF supporter during the convention. Bid on your chance to go mano a mano with Millar on Friday night.

Lunch with Mark Waid – The fantastic writer who has revitalized heroes from the Flash to the Four will be spending a lunch date with the CBLDF supporter who bids best on Friday night.

All of these lunches will be auctioned off on Friday night at the CBLDF auction, happening in the Hyatt after the Wizard fan awards! Be there!

Auction!

In addition to the above lunch dates, we’re going to be auctioning off over 50 amazing items to benefit the Fund. From signed scripts by Alan Moore and Garth Ennis to original art, signed comics, art prints, and CGC comics, this auction will have something cool for every collector. Defender of Liberty Brian Pulido will be reprising his role as auctioneer and a full desert selection will be served. Be there and make a bid on a great item for a good cause.

Signings!

The Fund will be hosting signings at the booth by Judd Winick, Brian Azzarello, Jill Thompson, and Greg Rucka. We’re still finalizing the schedules, so be sure to check in at the show on Friday to see when the signings are happening.

Also, if you’re in Chicago on Thursday you can meet Fund supporter Terry Moore at Keith’s Komix, a supporter of the CBLDF. For more on the signing visit www.keithskomix.com
