Dinner With a Fiddler's Green Guest of Honor!

Guests of Honor of Fiddler's Green, a Sandman convention, have agreed to participate in a special opportunity for folks who register early--everyone who is registered as a Fiddler's Green attending member by August 14 will have the chance to go to Friday-night dinner with a Guest of Honor! Guests include Neil Gaiman, Karen Berger, Charles Vess, Caitlin Kiernan, Todd Klein, and more. The chances are even greater for Comic Book Legal Defense Fund members (since Fiddler's Green is happening to support the CBLDF), so if you aren't already a CBLDF member, consider joining now!

How the Dinner-Lottery Works:
- We're keeping registration records (naturally), and noting the received date for each membership.
- We're also keeping a record of who's already a CBLDF member, and who joins the CBLDF when they join the convention. (There's a check-box on the FG registration form, so if you're already a CBLDF member be sure to check the box when you join Fiddler's Green. If you're not already a CBLDF member, it's only $25, and easy to do--just fill out that part of the form!)

- A few days after August 14, we'll pull the list of everyone whose registration we received on or before that date, and send all of those people an email with the dinner options.
- Everyone who gets that email will have some time to respond with their lottery choices in order of preference. (We'll explain the response deadline in the email.)
- Once the response deadline has passed, we'll sort the responses by preference, and draw lots to determine who wins dinner with which Fiddler's Green Guest of Honor.

- We'll send email to the winners, and post the names on our web site and our announcements list.

There will be eight seats available for each GoH dinner group. Six of those will only be available to Fiddler's Green CBLDF members. The other two will be available to Fiddler's Green members who aren't CBLDF members.

The winners are responsible for the costs of their own dinners. (The convention will buy for the Guests.) Each Guest will be choosing the restaurant for their dinner group, and we'll include the restaurant information in the choices email so everyone will know where they'll be eating depending on which Guest lottery they choose. (None of the choices will be extravagant, just nice comfortable places with good food. There are a lot of those in Minneapolis.)
