CBLDF Launches All-Star eBay Auction!

Original Art by Jeff Smith, Dave Sim, Dustin Nguyen & More!

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund proudly presents its 2007 Holiday Benefit Auction on eBay , featuring over 40 rare and one-of-a-kind items offered to support the First Amendment legal work the Fund performs on behalf of the comics community. Proceeds from this auction will directly benefit the ongoing defense of Gordon Lee in Rome, GA. Bidding is now open , with most items closing on Sunday, December 9.

This year’s auction brings a treasure trove of original art, including key pieces by: Jeff Smith, Matt Wagner, Dave Sim, Dustin Nguyen, David Lloyd, Kevin Nowlan, Terry Moore, David Mack and many more. In addition to original art, there are rare signed items by Laurell K. Hamilton, Neil Gaiman, Harlan Ellison, Will Eisner, Robert Kirkman, Jon J Muth, Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, & more.

“2007 has been a tremendously busy and expensive year for the CBLDF, with costs in the Gordon Lee case unexpectedly rising when we were twice prevented from going to trial. 2008 promises to bring more expense in that case, as we hopefully take it to trial once and for all,” explains CBLDF Executive Director Charles Brownstein.

Brownstein adds, “Right now the Fund urgently needs support to shore up our resources for the next round in that case. We’re very lucky to have such a great base of supportive creators who donated the pieces for this incredible auction. We hope that comics lovers and CBLDF supporters everywhere will be generous in their bidding, because every penny will further the CBLDF’s important work as we enter what will be a very busy new year.”
