Y: THE LAST PARTY Lives On!

Video, Auctions Launch Featuring Entertainment's Finest Pay Tribute To Y: THE LAST MAN

Starting today, you can relive MySpace Comic Books & Meltdown Comics' legendary CBLDF benefit Y: THE LAST PARTY!

Starting now on CBLDF's MySpace Profile (http://www.myspace.com/cbldf) you can experience the event with video featuring luminaries from the comics and entertainment world celebrating the conclusion of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's Y: THE LAST MAN! A benefit for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Y: THE LAST PARTY raised over $10,000 in net proceeds. That number will rise when the CBLDF launches an auction of tribute art by the likes of Jill Thompson, Cameron Stewart, Niko Henrichon, and more created for the party on eBay this Saturday. For details on the auction, please visit (http://www.myspace.com/cbldf)

Damon Lindelhoff, Grant Morrison, Mark Waid, Geoff Johns, and Drew Goddard were among the creative elite who descended on Meltdown Comics' Hollywood gallery to extend their well wishes to Vaughan and Guerra. 70 advance ticket holders enjoyed a VIP reception with an open bar sponsored by Monster, Asahi Beer, and Gekkeikan Sake. At 8:30 festivities began with introductory remarks from series editor Will Dennis, who recounted Brian Azzarello's pungent advice about taking on the book. Then Joss Whedon, the famed creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer delivered a keynote address paying tribute to the series and its creators. Video from these talks & the Q&A is now available on the CBLDF's MySpace profile ((http://www.myspace.com/cbldf) ). Pictures are available now at: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=92159514&albumId=1470991

Brian K. Vaughan says, "No offense to my wife or our lovely wedding, but this was literally the best night of my life. On behalf of the entire Y: THE LAST MAN team, thanks so much to everyone who made this evening possible, and more importantly, thanks to the many of you who came out to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Now if you'll excuse me, there's some gorgeous original Y art that I really need to bid on."

"We're enormously grateful to all of the work that MySpace Comic Books and Meltdown Comics put in to making this a truly unique and memorable event for comics that will advance the legal work of the CBLDF in the coming months," says CBLDF Executive Director Charles Brownstein.

Meltdown Comics Purchasing Manager Matt Gagnon says, "Meltdown was absolutely honored to host this unprecedented event! We're thrilled that we were able to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund in their worthy and necessary cause. Thanks goes out to all of our sponsors that made this possible and to Pia, Brian and Co. for creating such a phenomenal comic book series."

Y: THE LAST MAN, concluded on January 30, 2008 with issue sixty. The series and its co-creators, writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra, have received widespread acclaim, in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Salon and Entertainment Weekly and on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered."
