Developing side by side in the twentieth century, comics and cinema have long history of mutual influence. Spend an hour talking movies with your favorite comics artists.
The creators of Love
and Rockets lead a “chalk talk” tutorial, offering rare insight
into the methods that made their 50 issue series a classic of the comics
form.
Moderator: Chris Oarr
Panelists: All hands on deck!
After a week of spirited discussion covering a wide array of industry issues, our final panel charts a course for the future of comics. Will comics remain a viable medium in and of itself, or will the industry become only a development vehicle for movies and other media? What role will the internet play in the creation and delivery of comics? Will the last person to leave please shut out the lights? You and our entire crew of artists, writers, and other comics professionals will attack these questions head on and with candor in what will surely be a lively exchange.
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund was founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of First Amendment rights for members of the comics community. Donations and inquiries should be directed to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
